how can stress affect people in modern society

In this modern society, everyone is living under stress. Stress comes from anywhere, anything, anytime. You may feel stress when you are in a big or small trouble. According to Hans Selye, “adopting the right attitude can convert a negative stress into a positive stress,” but it seems like most of the people could not adopt the right attitude, that is why stress also caused lots of suicide cases, because they don’t know how to release their stress? Or they just want to die, to escape from this stressful place? Nobody knows. Even now, I am having stress, all because of someone hacked my Gmail account and I could not log in into my Gmail and my blog until one of my friend help me to get back my Gmail account, this is almost made me feel stress to the max. So, these cases showed that stress affected people from many different things and is the cause of many problems in a person’s life. The stress of Health, finance, works, relationship, studies are the common stresses which affect people in this modern society.

Stress could affect people from their health. People feel stress when they could not do well in something. Some of them will get angry easily and yell to another just to release their stress, and some of them could not sleep well and eat well, these make them feel tired and weak, even dropping their hairs. Stress can make a person die. Every morning, when I start to read the newspaper, there must be at least one case about suicide or someone cut themselves because they feel stress and don’t know how to face it, so they chose to die. Quite a sad case when I read the article, stress is just like a murderer who can kill someone secretly and it need not to pay or suffer any punishment. Biting nails, cutting hands or legs by small knife, scratching finger, and so on are the actions they do when they feel stress.

Working people feel stress when they are the one who have to handle the finance problem of their family. They are trying their best to work harder to get more opportunity in their job so they could afford to give a good life to their family. Bosses always throw problems to the workers and workers have to solve it by the due date which bosses set, if they could not solve it, they might lose their job. This is the common case which caused them to live in a stressful working life. Working people feel stress when they could not bring bread home, and they have to suffer bloody scold by bosses or customers.

Relationship between friends, lover, and family causes lots of stress to people too, in this modern society. Relationship problems make people feel stress when they are facing some problems and could not solve it, for example, there was a male who only 22-year-old committed suicide because of his ex-girlfriend having a new relationship with another guy after few days they broke up. Argument is the main issue of stress of relationship, it is because people will argue with their lover, family or friends when they get angry or having problems. During the argument, there will be lots of irrespective words come out from their mouths; misfortunes never come singly, more problems coming toward to them. Sometimes, stress can cause them making wrong decision, and they might be regret after they decide to break up with their lover, or scolded their family members, or even losing a friend.

Students always have stress with their studies. It is because their parents want them to be good in studies and score high marks in their examinations or just a small test. Nowadays, parents are afraid that their children could not get a better pay in their future, due to lots of successful people in this modern society, and a lot of compete between children and teenagers. One of my friends is having melancholia, because her mother always pushes her to tuition centre, and lots of talent classes. She got no time to rest even on weekends she has to tuition from Monday to Friday, and having piano class on Saturday, ballet class on Sunday. And she cannot say no to her mother but just obey what her mother says. One day, she told her mother that she want to suicide, because she felt stress with all these classes and homework. From that day, her mother started let her do whatever she likes, and not dare to pushes her to do anything she don’t like.

In conclusion, we should not feel stress when we having problems in our life, but trying to solve the problems with a normal mood. People should keep their mood happily all the time no matter what problems they facing, stress could take away a life easily. Being happy and active are the ways to keep us away from stressful life. So people, being happy all the time, because no matter you are stress or happy, life still goes on, so why don’t we be happy? Times would not stop when you are upset or stress, choose a better way to face problems, be tough no matter what. Without stress, you will have a healthy life with healthy body and healthy mood if you change your mind now.

  1. The essay is well organized. The thesis statement is clear. However, the supporting sentences need to be better researched and topic sentences need to have both topic/focus. Actually it might be better to have 2 well elaborated and researched main points than having 4, which might get tedious, especially if the research is done after deciding on the main points.
